At the beginning of August, our Company was visited by a delegation of Portuguese representatives of local authorities and water-sector companies. The fifteen-member group from Portugal came to Bolesławiec at the invitation of Grundfos, a global leader in modern pumping and water-treatment solutions, as well as in technologies for monitoring and controlling water-distribution processes.
As part of their partnership, Grundfos is implementing its most advanced technologies at PWiK Bolesławiec. A system for monitoring water losses, a network pressure-reduction system, and state-of-the-art IT tools for monitoring and controlling processes at water-supply and wastewater facilities are technologies being tested in Bolesławiec. The test results provide Grundfos with a great deal of important information, enabling it to further modernize the implemented technologies while also inspiring the creation of additional innovative solutions.
For us, the positive effects of this cooperation include a significant reduction in water losses, fewer water-supply failures, and savings in electricity consumption. All of this has helped keep water and wastewater charges unchanged for the past two years and the next three.
The delegation from Portugal came to see how Grundfos technology is applied in practice at Bolesławiec’s water-supply facilities. They were particularly impressed by the low level of water losses in the network and the modern monitoring system for water and wastewater facilities. They also praised the taste of Bolesławiec tap water, the beauty of the city, and the friendliness of the Polish people.
