On 25 May 2026, the company signed two further agreements with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management under the FEnIKS 2021–2027 program. They concern the reconstruction and modernization of water and sewage infrastructure damaged during the floods in the agglomerations of Bolesławiec, Lwówek Śląski and Wleń.
The total value of the new investments exceeds PLN 24 million, of which more than PLN 18.7 million is funding.
As part of the project, the wastewater treatment plant facilities in Bolesławiec and Wleń will be rebuilt, the full functionality of wastewater pumping stations will be restored, and sewer networks will be repaired and expanded. The water intakes in Rakowice, Lwówek Śląski and Wleń will also be modernized. The investments are also intended to better protect water and sewage infrastructure from the effects of future floods.
“We are proud that over the past few months we have managed to secure more than PLN 42 million for investments that are extremely important for residents and the future of the region. This is a tremendous development boost for infrastructure and the security of water supplies,” emphasizes Grzegorz Kozłowski, president of the management board of PWiK Dolina Bobru.Grzegorz Kozłowski.
Green Energy and Modern Technologies
One of the first major projects involved securing funding for the development of renewable energy sources from the European Funds for Lower Silesia 2021–2027. In July 2025, the company signed an agreement to carry out an investment worth more than PLN 3.3 million, of which nearly PLN 1.9 million came from funding.
Thanks to the investment, the cogeneration system producing energy from biogas at the wastewater treatment plant in Bolesławiec was modernized, and modern heat pumps were purchased and installed at facilities in Lwówek Śląski. The result will be an increase in electricity and heat production of approximately 490 MWh per year.
Safe Water and a Modern Water Supply Network
Another strategic project is the modernization of water supply infrastructure carried out with funding from the FEnIKS program. The agreement was signed in September 2025.
The project includes, among other things, the reconstruction of nearly 6 kilometers of water supply and transmission networks in Bolesławiec, Gmina Bolesławiec and Lwówek Śląski; the replacement of the last sections of old asbestos-cement networks; the modernization of water treatment plants; the expansion of photovoltaic installations; and the expansion of a modern system for monitoring leaks in the water supply network.
The value of this project is PLN 14.7 million, with PLN 7.7 million in funding. The investments will increase the security of the water supply system and improve the efficiency of water network management.
More Than PLN 12.6 Million for the Green Transformation
In December 2025, the company signed another important agreement—this time with Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan concerning the green transformation of cities.
One of the key elements of the project is the enclosure of the wastewater section of the treatment plant in Bolesławiec, which is intended to reduce odor-related nuisance for residents and significantly improve quality of life.
The project also provides for improvements in water and wastewater management, investment in the further development of energy-efficient solutions, and renewable energy sources.
Cybersecure Water Networks
PWiK is also investing in the security of critical infrastructure. In March 2026, an agreement worth more than PLN 1.26 million was signed under the “Cybersecure Water Networks” program, financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The project provides for the modernization of IT infrastructure protection systems, securing control systems for the water and sewage network, and preparing the company for the requirements of the NIS2 Directive.
“The funds secured will allow us not only to rebuild and modernize the infrastructure, but above all to increase the security of the entire system and develop environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solutions,” adds Grzegorz Kozłowski.
