The incident occurred on Friday, July 27, in one of the villages in Osiecznica Commune. The chase began just after 5 p.m., when the driver of a Fiat failed to stop for an inspection despite clear visual and audible signals from the officers.
At one point, the fleeing driver's speeding car turned onto a forest road. There, officers from Bolesławiec arrested the driver, a 40-year-old resident of Osiecznica Commune, who… had never had a driving licence. What is more, he was driving without the vehicle documents required.
To make matters worse, the fleeing man was completely drunk; he had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled breath.
The man could now face up to five years in prison.
