The duty officer at the Lubin police station was informed by concerned residents of Lubin municipality that a man driving a Volkswagen might be intoxicated. The officer immediately sent a patrol from the Prevention Department to the scene.
The officers spotted the aforementioned car on the road. When they stopped the driver for inspection, they detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from him.
The 36-year-old resident of Lubin municipality was completely drunk; he had 3.6 per mille of alcohol in his system. As he explained to the officers, he only wanted to check whether his wife’s car was in working order.
The man could now face up to two years in prison.
