For years, the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Bolesławiec, based in Kruszyn, has organized the Mathematical and Fitness Tournament. This year's edition took place on 17 March in the sports hall in Brzeźnik.
Four-person teams representing primary schools from the rural municipality took part in the competition. All tournament participants competed in both fitness and mathematics events.
Jumping on inflatable balls while weaving between cones, passing under a bar and throwing a beanbag into a hoop were just some of the fitness events held during this year's tournament.
The team from the Primary School in Kruszyn took first place. It competed with Adrianna Koch, Weronika Wiśniowiecka, Szymon Ostrowski and Michał Piotrowski.
Second place went to the students of the Primary School in Trzebień: Kamila Marszałek, Karolina Czopko, Natalia Regińska and Karina Wróbel. The competitors from the Primary School in Kraśnik Dolny finished third: Mateusz Deberny, Grzegorz Paluch, Michael Ziembikiewicz and Michał Pałucki.
The proper course of the competition was supervised by a committee consisting of Helena Szymula, Maria Strojek and Bogdan Uziej. In addition to medals and certificates, the winners of the three top places received board games, while the other tournament participants received mini-puzzles.
