Today, July 25, on Saint Christopher’s Day, the patron saint of drivers, police officers wish to appeal to the latter to exercise caution and comply with road traffic regulations. “Let this day be an opportunity for everyone to reflect and consider whether our behaviour on the road is putting ourselves and others at risk,” the officers say.

How can we use the road safely?

  • let us ensure that our vehicles are in proper technical condition
  • when setting off on a journey, let us remember to take the documents required to drive a vehicle
  • let us set off well-rested and, above all, sober
  • we must remember to use seat belts at all times and use child safety devices
  • when setting out on a longer journey, let us plan breaks so that we can maintain proper concentration throughout the trip.

Officers:

There is room for everyone on the road, and whether we reach our destination largely depends on us. So let us focus on driving courteously and respecting other road users. Then every journey will become a pleasant experience and an excellent way to reach our destination safely, which is what we wish all drivers on Saint Christopher’s Day.
