Mobile phones, navigation devices, tablets, shopping bags, power tools—these are the items most often targeted by thieves. A thief tempted by equipment or packaging left in a car will most often break a window and steal whatever is inside. Sometimes, the value of the stolen item makes little difference to the perpetrator. If you notice someone looking into parked vehicles, call the emergency number 997 or 112.

Let us remember that leaving documents in cars—such as the vehicle registration certificate, compulsory third-party liability insurance contract, or identity card—is also an enticing opportunity for a perpetrator. If the vehicle is stolen, this significantly makes it easier for a potential thief to drive or sell the stolen car.
They add: “Additionally, in such situations, we risk our personal data being used for criminal purposes.”
