10 years in prison and a lifetime driving ban—that is the sentence handed down by a Wrocław court to a 22-year-old man from one of the towns near Bolesławiec, RMF FM reported. In November last year, Patryk U. drove into a group of pedestrians. One person died at the scene. The other two, suffering serious injuries, were taken to hospital. The tragic incident occurred on the Grunwaldzki Bridge in Wrocław. The perpetrator fled from the police and jumped into the Oder. It turned out that the man was drunk. His driving licence had already been confiscated once. He had also been detained twice for drunk driving.
