Dariusz Mucha served twice as a councillor on the City Council. He first held the mandate during the 1998–2002 term. He was later outside the council. He returned to the town hall in the 2014 election. He entered the council from the committee of the incumbent mayor, Piotr Roman.
In February 2017, Dariusz Mucha parted ways with his colleagues from the Forum councillors’ club. Darius Filistyński, the head of Forum, described his departure as an expulsion; according to Filistyński, the councillor had acted to the detriment of the club. Until today, Dariusz Mucha was an unaffiliated councillor, deeply involved in what was happening in the city. He understood a councillor’s work as engagement in the life of the community and a thorough, active analysis of the actions of local government officials.
In January 2017, the councillor reported during a session that people had been buried in Bolesławiec outside the cemetery, on the road. He checked whether other councillors were attempting to cover it up. The case was referred to the prosecutor’s office, and the investigation was discontinued.
Dariusz Mucha was the author of the book “Samorząd dla mas,” published in 2006, which described the history of the formation of Bolesławiec’s local government. The councillor was very proud of the book. It is a subjective history of our local government after 1989, with vivid descriptions of the formation of the first coalitions and the downfall and emergence of local-government leaders in our region.
Dariusz Mucha was also a co-owner of “Łajba” by the pond in Bolesławiec’s Planty.
