The Bolesławiec City Council’s vote-of-approval session is underway. When opposition councillor Dariusz Mucha took the floor, the body’s chairman Jarosław Kowalski… called a five-minute recess.
Update
After very laudatory statements by the chairmen of two groups on the City Council (Dariusz Filistyński from Forum and Ariel Fecyk from Platforma Samorządowa), opposition councillor Dariusz Mucha took the floor:
This vote of approval is, in a way, the closing chapter of this term. Mr Mayor, I do not want to offend, insult or provoke you. I have been observing your work for 16 years. To the adjectives used in this chamber today, it is worth adding one more “pro.” A pre-election budget implemented so that finances could be juggled, thereby ensuring you the residents’ support.
A moment later, chairman Jarosław Kowalski called a recess. When the proceedings resumed, D. Mucha compared the entire situation to “Belarusian democracy.”
Despite the critical comments by the opposition councillor, Piotr Roman received the vote of approval. Seventeen councillors voted in favor.
