Gracjan Kozak, an athlete from the MKS Bolesłavia athletics club and a trainee of coach Tomasz Markowski, competed in the European Championships final on Friday, 6 July—in the discus throw competition. And he won the bronze medal!
CONGRATULATIONS! The competition is taking place in Hungary and was broadcast on Eurosport 1.
Let us recall. At the end of June, we reported that MKS Bolesłavia athletics club athlete Gracjan Kozak would represent Poland in the discus throw at the European Youth Championships, held from 5 to 8 July in the Hungarian city of Győr.
The athlete’s most important achievements with Bolesłavia:
- as a youth athlete, he became Polish runner-up, breaking the Lower Silesian record (1 kg discus—61.67 m)
- this year’s results: shot put (5 kg)—18.73 m; discus throw (1.5 kg)—58.16 m
- at the June LZS Polish Championships, he became national champion in the discus throw and runner-up in the shot put. (He is also Lower Silesian champion in these events.)
Gracjan trains in the throwing group led by teacher and coach Tomasz Markowski. Competing in the European Championships is a great distinction for our athlete. His predecessors from the throwing group won many Polish Championship medals. They also competed in international events: Roksana Drab in the javelin throw at the World Gymnasiade in France; Agnieszka Dalmata in the discus throw; Dawid Kopała in the hammer throw in international matches; Kacper Olszewski in the European Qualifiers for the Olympic Games, where he finished fifth.
