The incident took place in one of the localities in Miękinia municipality (Środa County). The vandal, running around at night with a chainsaw, destroyed a fence belonging to one of the properties and two garden lamps. The damage was estimated at PLN 3,000.
Based on the man's description, the officers determined that the perpetrator might be a resident of the same locality. The 40-year-old vandal was arrested at his home. He denied everything; he was arrogant and failed to follow the officers' orders.
As it turned out, he was drunk. At the time of his arrest, he had nearly 2 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The 40-year-old was taken to police custody. He could now face up to five years in prison.
