Officers from Police Station II in Jelenia Góra detained a 35-year-old man suspected of theft. The crime took place on May 22 on one of the city buses. Taking advantage of his fellow passenger’s inattention, the 35-year-old stole a mobile phone worth PLN 1,200 from her handbag.

The victim notified the police. The officers—partly on the basis of surveillance footage—identified and detained the man suspected of the offense. In his apartment, they found the stolen property, which was returned to its owner.

The thief now faces up to 5 years in prison.
