– We urge you to pay particular attention to people who visit our homes, especially when they are strangers to us, say the officers. – It is best not to use their services or to ask a neighbor or acquaintance to stay close to us during such a visit. Only through caution and prudence can we avoid unpleasant incidents.

With the well-being of residents in mind, the police urge caution and sound judgment in similar situations. Let us remember that fraudsters are ready to use various methods to win a household member’s trust.

How not to fall victim to fraudsters?

  • do not let an unknown person into your home
  • remember to always lock the doors to your home
  • if a stranger introduces themselves as an employee of an institution, demand to see the appropriate identification. You can also check by telephone whether the institution in question sent an employee to you
  • do not leave an unknown person alone with the door open. Fraudsters often ask to check something inside the house and then, taking advantage of our inattention, commit theft
  • do not let salespeople into your home if they offer to sell you items of unknown origin at very attractive prices.
  • if we briefly let our guard down and a person we do not know has already entered our home, do not reveal where we keep our savings.

Report all attempts at theft or extortion of money to the police immediately by calling the emergency numbers: 997 or 112.
