The incident occurred on Sunday, July 1, a few minutes before 9:00 p.m., near Ocice (Bolesławiec municipality). The driver of a Ford Focus, a 33-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County, improperly overtook an Opel driven by a 71-year-old man. The cars collided, and one of them ended up in a ditch.
Fortunately, no one suffered any serious injuries. The perpetrator of the collision was drunk; he had nearly 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air.
The 33-year-old could now face up to two years behind bars.
