A 27-year-old was driving a passenger car while under the influence of alcohol (0.36 per mille in exhaled air). He was the least intoxicated driver of the five detained.

The second, a 61-year-old detained for inspection in Bolesławiec, already had 1 per mille of alcohol in his system.

The next three detainees were drunk at... work. A 46-year-old foreign national working for a Polish transport company was driving a truck to France. He had more than 0.7 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air.

Another truck driver—a 54-year-old resident of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship—was driving to Germany. He had nearly 1.5 per mille.

The fifth person detained turned out to be a 29-year-old resident of Osiecznica Municipality. An employee of one of Bolesławiec’s companies was driving a van carrying goods, and was well over the limit. The test showed more than 0.5 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air.

Four of the suspects could face up to two years in prison.
