One of the items on the agenda of the June session of the Bolesławiec County Council was a vote on the draft resolution regarding the “change in the salary of the Bolesławiec Starost.” Before that happened, however, a discussion was held, during which the person concerned himself spoke – Karol Stasik.

The official emphasized that salary was not the most important thing for him in his work for the County. He added that even if the councillors adopted the resolution, it would not change anything in relations between the Starost and the Council. Moreover, to make it easier for the local government officials to make their decision, K. Stasik left the room for the duration of the vote.

The County’s legal counsel joined the discussion and recalled the Latin maxim: Dura lex, sed lex. Nevertheless, the majority of councillors voted against the resolution in question. Only the Law and Justice local government officials (Jan Russ and Jacek Rozpędowski) voted in favor. (Maciej Małkowski was not present at Thursday’s session).
