Before the June session of the Bolesławiec County Council began, local government officials honoured the Mały Bolesławiec Song and Dance Ensemble from the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec for promoting the county, as well as the ensemble’s supervisors: manager Anna Idkowiak and manager Agnieszka Juda.

The Mały Bolesławiec Song and Dance Ensemble is the longest-running activity at the Youth Cultural Centre, comprising nearly 90 participants aged 7 to 23. For over 30 years, it has attracted crowds of children and young people eager for fun and many artistic experiences. Successive generations dance in the Ensemble and enjoy Polish traditions while, during trips to festivals in Poland and abroad, learning about the customs of other regions and countries. The young dancers have presented Polish folklore in Denmark, Germany, the Czech Republic and Croatia, among other places. Since 2004, the Ensemble has cooperated with the Deutsch-Polnischer Verein from Zwickau, resulting in regular workshop meetings of both groups in Germany and Poland.

The “Mały Bolesławiec” repertoire includes Polish national dances: the Kujawiak, Oberek, Polonaise, Mazur and Krakowiak, as well as scenes from many regions of Poland: Lower and Upper Silesia, the Lublin region, Greater Poland, Lesser Poland and Kashubia. The dancers take part in charity and special events, as well as thematic lessons organised for schools and preschools. Their performances are characterised by a high technical level and the joy of meeting together. The Song and Dance Ensemble from the Youth Cultural Centre guarantees a family atmosphere and many interesting and pleasant memories.
