Officers from the prevention department of the Lubin police detained a 49-year-old man suspected of physically and psychologically abusing his wife. When the detainee was under the influence of alcohol, he started arguments. He grabbed his wife, pushed her and threatened to kill her.
During one of the interventions, the aggressor reportedly had nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in his system. He was highly aggressive and violated an officer’s bodily integrity.
Eventually, his 54-year-old wife could take no more and reported the abuse to the authorities. (It turned out that the man had previously been placed under police supervision, prohibited from approaching his wife and ordered to leave the residence. The 49-year-old complied with none of these measures).
The aggressor was detained and taken to police custody. At the request of the police and the prosecutor’s office, the court ordered him held in temporary detention for two months. The 49-year-old could face up to five years in prison.
