Last weekend, five criminal drivers were apprehended by the Bolesławiec police. First, traffic officers stopped a passenger car carrying three people for inspection. It turned out that a 33-year-old resident of the Nowogrodziec commune was driving his family while under the influence of drugs. Moreover, he was not carrying the required documents.

A 50-year-old, meanwhile, got behind the wheel with 2 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air and also caused a collision. (He hit the rear of another vehicle.)

In the Gromadka commune, officers also apprehended a 17-year-old who was riding a moped with nearly 1 per mille of alcohol in his system. The teenager did not have a licence to ride the two-wheeler. What is more, he was not carrying the required documents.

The police then stopped another 50-year-old. He had also caused a collision. As it turned out, he was drunk, with 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air. Seeing the condition of the perpetrator, the injured parties took his keys away. The 50-year-old then left the scene, leaving a passenger in the car—as if nothing had happened. (The drunk driver was arrested a short while later.)

A 27-year-old woman will also face charges for driving under the influence of drugs. In her car, police officers found intoxicants belonging to a... 16-year-old passenger. Moreover, the irresponsible driver was carrying her 2.5-year-old son. The boy was not wearing a seat belt. The family court will be notified of the matter.

The arrested drivers now face up to 2 years in prison, driving bans and hefty fines.
