Officers from the Komenda Powiatowa Policji w Bolesławcu held a dozen or so meetings with primary and secondary school students at the Orzeł Cultural Integration Centre in the final days of the school year. The talks were part of the nationwide information and education campaign “Safety on the Water Is Close to My Heart”.
The aim of the campaign was to remind children and young people of the most important safety rules they should remember during their summer break.
Officers:
The holidays are a time to take a break from school, but this does not release anyone from thinking and taking care of their safety. Trips to holiday camps and youth camps encourage people to meet new individuals, who may not always have good intentions. That is why it is so important to exercise caution when providing personal details and posing for photographs.
The police officers also reminded students of the need to wear reflective elements, even in built-up areas with poor lighting. Moreover, in connection with media reports of poisoning by legal highs, they informed them about the dangers associated with taking intoxicants and other substances.
Each meeting also covered safe-bathing rules and the need to look after one’s belongings before entering the water. (With the start of the holidays, preventive activities aimed at camp participants and everyone enjoying a summer break have begun.)
