Officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters conducted the “Charge 2018” exercises on the premises of the 43rd Military Economic Division in Świętoszów. (The WOG management co-organized the command-and-staff operations.)

Here is the scenario for this year’s exercises: two armed attackers enter the military unit’s premises. The criminals, carrying an explosive device, enter one of the buildings; they take two hostages and demand the release of a detained terrorist.

The police, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Patrol No. 23, the fire service and medical services are called to the scene. Negotiators begin talks with the attackers, seeking to have the hostages released.

Once the hostages are released, the attackers suddenly run out of the building and begin shooting at the police officers. One of the terrorists leaves an explosive device on the stairs. A police officer is wounded in the attack and is taken over by the medical rescue team from the military unit in Świętoszów.

The attackers are killed, while the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Patrol, together with the Non-Staff Mine and Pyrotechnic Reconnaissance Group from the Bolesławiec police, takes charge of the device and secures it in a special container.

Police:

Fortunately, these were only exercises. However, it is very important for various services to check how cooperation and the transfer of information work in difficult situations, as well as what support can be expected in the event of a threat.
