The case began on June 12 in the Bolesławiec municipality. A friend called the victim at that time to report that he had found a furnace and other accessories just behind the building belonging to the latter. (The building itself was still under construction.)
Investigators from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec immediately arrived at the scene. After carefully examining the site, they confirmed that a burglary had taken place.
When the officers entered, it turned out that a 23-year-old female burglar had been staying at the construction site for several days. When she saw the police, she immediately explained that she had stolen the furnace with her partner. She was in the process of arranging transport to take the stolen property away.
The woman was arrested. Shortly afterward, her 27-year-old accomplice, a resident of the Bolesławiec municipality, also fell into the hands of the officers.
The couple pleaded guilty. Property worth nearly PLN 5,000 was returned to its owner.
Both burglars could now face up to 10 years in prison.
