The incident occurred on June 10 near one of Jelenia Góra’s cemeteries. The attacker surprised and assaulted an elderly couple. He beat the pair and then robbed them. He took money, documents and a bank card. (He used the latter three times.) The victims’ total losses amounted to approximately PLN 350.
The seniors notified the police about the incident. Based on the information obtained and an analysis of surveillance footage, officers identified a 17-year-old as suspected of committing these acts. The teenager was detained. It turned out that he had already committed similar crimes.
The 17-year-old was first taken into police custody and then, by court decision, placed in temporary detention for two months.
The minor now faces up to 12 years in prison.
