On Monday, June 11, after 2:00 p.m., the duty officer at the Lubin District Police Headquarters received a report of a theft at one of the supermarkets in the Polne housing estate. The perpetrator fled.

A patrol from the crime prevention department of the Lubin police station immediately went to the scene, while the other patrols on duty heard a description of the perpetrator’s appearance over the radio.

As it turned out, the 39-year-old resident of Lubin was already known to the store’s security staff from previous thefts. When the security guard and one of the supermarket’s customers tried to apprehend the thief, he sprayed them with tear gas. He also threatened to kill them.

Lubin criminal investigators arrested the aggressor. The 39-year-old has already been charged with robbery theft and causing minor bodily harm. The man could now face up to 10 years in prison.
