Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec have already held the first meetings as part of the nationwide information and education campaign “Safety on the Water Matters to Me.” A policewoman from the criminal prevention department met with students from the School Complex in Osiecznica to make them aware of the dangers they may face, especially during the holidays. Meanwhile, at the “Orzeł” Cultural Integration Centre in Bolesławiec, a community police officer met with pupils from Primary School No. 5.

During the meetings, the officers discussed road safety, cyberbullying and vigilance when interacting with people they have recently met. Naturally, one of the main topics was safe swimming and caution during leisure time in or near the water. The police reminded the students that the holidays are no excuse for failing to think.

Particular attention was drawn to the need for pedestrians outside built-up areas to use reflective elements, as well as in urban areas where lighting is poor.

During the meetings, information was provided about the “FILMOWY przeWODNIK” competition. (The film material is intended to promote safe time spent in or near water and an active lifestyle).
