High temperatures combined with a lack of common sense and imagination can be extremely dangerous. Under no circumstances should children be left in a parked car! It does not matter if we are only stepping away for a moment—every minute spent in a hot car puts their health and even their lives at risk. A fine of PLN 500 is then the least severe consequence.
The same care should also be extended to animals. Leaving pets in a car in high temperatures constitutes animal cruelty, punishable under the law by up to two years in prison.
Police:
Let us not remain indifferent. If we notice that a person or animal is in a situation posing a threat to life or health, inform the police by calling the emergency telephone number 997 or 112.
Police officers pay particular attention to such situations.
