The honorees received their decorations during the May meeting of the Bolesławiec City Council.
Let us recall. During the April session, councillors of the Bolesławiec City Council adopted resolutions awarding the title “Honored by the City of Bolesławiec” to:
- Annie Bober-Tubaj, longtime head of the Museum of Ceramics and editor of the “Bolesławiec Yearbook”
- Helenie Kowal, a cultural animator and organizer of numerous cultural events
- Edmundowi Malińskiemu, PhD in the humanities, Senator of the Republic of Poland from 1991 to 1993, history teacher, former head of II General Secondary School, one of the initiators of the “Bolesławiec Yearbook” and a community activist
- Grzegorzowi Matorynowi, an outstanding photographer and graphic designer, co-creator and editor of the “Bolesławiec Yearbook.”
The same title was also awarded to one institution: the Guild of Various Crafts and Small Entrepreneurship in Bolesławiec. The justification for the resolution concerning the Guild states:
Today, the Bolesławiec Guild of Various Crafts and Small Entrepreneurship conducts wide-ranging activities aimed at strengthening community ties and building local identity. By taking care to improve the professional qualifications of its members, it contributes to the image of Bolesławiec craftsmanship. It takes an interest in the city’s development directions and undertakes actions intended to improve the quality of life of Bolesławiec residents.
