The aim of the Veterans’ Run was to commemorate and honor the efforts of Polish soldiers serving on missions outside the country. The race covered 5 kilometers—two laps starting and finishing at Piłsudski Square. Aneta Kurowska, the wife of the officer killed in Afghanistan, was the honorary starter and patron of the first edition of the Veterans’ Run.

The race was attended by, among others, outstanding Polish athletes, veterans of missions outside the country, soldiers, members of the Stratpoints Foundation and running enthusiasts. At the finish, participants received medals in the form of military dog tags.

The race was held in four categories. In the “wounded veteran” category, the best results were achieved by:

  3. Szymon Mutwicki.

In the “veteran” category:

  2. Dariusz Łomański
  3. Grzegorz Buluk.

In the “open” category:

  3. Adam Pisulski.

The best among the women were:

  1. Wioleta Paduszyńska
  2. Patrycja Drozd
  3. Alicja Kaczmarska.

The winners’ awards were presented by Aneta Kurowska, Gen. Mirosław Różański, the president of the Stratpoints Foundation, and Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman. The race was organized by the City of Bolesławiec, the Stratpoints Foundation for Security and Development, and MOSiR Bolesławiec.
