Officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn stopped a car during a night patrol. It was being driven by a 31-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County. (The driver had stolen fuel at a petrol station a few minutes earlier.)
It turned out that the arrested man had not only committed the aforementioned offence, but was also responsible for breaking into and stealing a car.
When the officers checked the vehicle in the police system, it emerged that the car had been stolen in an incident that took place on 12 May in a residential parking lot in Jelenia Góra County.
The police will return the recovered vehicle to its owner. The arrested resident of Zgorzelec County has already been charged. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
