The act amending the Road Traffic Act comes into force on 4 June this year. One of the changes is that it will no longer be necessary to carry a registration certificate and proof of third-party liability insurance. Consequently, media outlets reported that from 4 June drivers would no longer be fined for failing to carry these documents. The truth, however, is different. As reported by moto.wp.pl:
– The obligation to carry a registration certificate and proof of an OC policy does not end on 4 June. This is only the date when the act enabling such a solution comes into force – Karol Manys, acting spokesperson for the Ministry of Digital Affairs, told Wirtualna Polska. – This change depends on the launch of the Central Register of Drivers in version 2.0. It will come into force three months after the minister responsible for computerisation publishes a notice on the matter in the Public Information Bulletin. The minister would like drivers to be released from the obligation to carry these two documents before the end of 2018 – Karol Manys concluded.
