Officers from the Prevention Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters stopped the driver of a passenger Honda for a roadside check on Głogowska Street in Legnica. As the car was stopping, the police officers noticed that the driver and passenger were behaving very nervously and trying to hide something. During the document check, the officers noticed that the driver had dilated pupils, giving them reason to suspect that he might be under the influence of intoxicating substances. A drug test showed that the 31-year-old had got behind the wheel under the influence of drugs.
The officers found several doses of marijuana and ecstasy tablets on the passenger. Both men were detained and placed in police custody.
The case will now be handled by officers from the Department for Combating Crimes Against Life and Health, who will bring charges against the detainees for the offences committed.
The Honda passenger could face up to three years in prison. The driver could be jailed for two years.
