The incident occurred on Monday, May 7, before 3:00 p.m., on Zgorzelecka Street in Bolesławiec. The driver of a Ford Fiesta, a 27-year-old from Lwówek County, stopped before a pedestrian crossing. The 20-year-old from the Nowogrodziec municipality, driving behind him in an Opel Astra, failed to brake in time and rear-ended the Fiesta.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. Both drivers were sober. The case will end up in court.
Police are urging drivers to maintain a safe distance and exercise caution on the road.
