During the April session, the councillors of the Bolesławiec City Council adopted resolutions awarding the title “Honored for Merits to the City of Bolesławiec” to:

  • Anna Bober-Tubaj, long-serving head of the Museum of Ceramics and editor of the “Bolesławiec Yearbook”
  • Helena Kowal, cultural animator and organizer of numerous cultural events
  • Edmund Maliński, PhD in the humanities, Republic of Poland senator in 1991–1993, history teacher, former headmaster of II General Secondary School, one of the originators of the “Bolesławiec Yearbook” and a community activist
  • Grzegorz Matoryn, an outstanding photographer and graphic designer, co-creator and editor of the “Bolesławiec Yearbook”.

The same title was also awarded to one institution: the Guild of Various Crafts and Small Entrepreneurship in Bolesławiec. The justification for the resolution concerning the Guild states:

Today, the Bolesławiec Guild of Various Crafts and Small Entrepreneurship conducts extensive activities aimed at preserving community ties and building local identity. By ensuring that its members improve their professional qualifications, it influences the image of craftsmanship in Bolesławiec. It shows interest in the city’s development directions and undertakes actions aimed at improving the quality of life of the residents of Bolesławiec.

A fitting choice?
