The incident occurred on April 15. At around 10:30 p.m., the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica received information from drivers that a cyclist was riding along the A4 motorway (in the direction of Wrocław). A traffic patrol was immediately sent to the scene.
When the officers reached the 83rd kilometre of the motorway (Krotoszyce municipality), they noticed a cyclist weaving along the road who, to make matters worse, was riding… without lights.
The 66-year-old was completely surprised by the police intervention. He explained that he had had a beer and… decided to take a shortcut home.
It turned out that the irresponsible 66-year-old had nearly 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. The man was taken to a sobering-up facility. He will answer for his actions in court.
