New information has emerged about the fire that occurred on 12 April in Warta Bolesławiecka. As reported on the website of Komendy Powiatowej Państwowej Straży Pożarnej w Bolesławcu:
The fire was reported before 2 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found that the fire had already engulfed the entire roof of the building. It was an unoccupied building—there had previously been a nightclub and a shop there, and many years earlier it had also been the headquarters of the volunteer fire service. The fire also spread to an annex containing a car repair workshop.
The scene was secured. Road traffic on the adjacent streets and at the intersection was halted, and residents’ cars were evacuated from the area around the building. The fire was extinguished with water jets, including those operated from two aerial ladders. Necessary demolition work was carried out. The building was searched—no one was found. During the operation, one firefighter suffered a minor accident.
Firefighters from Bolesławiec, Warta Bolesławiecka, Raciborowice, Nowogrodziec and Jurków took part in the operation, along with the police, emergency power services and the building supervision authority.
