On Monday, April 16, Bolesławiec police received a report of a bicycle stolen from one of the workplaces. The victim arrived for the night shift and secured the bicycle in the designated area. In the morning, after work, he noticed that his vehicle was gone. He valued the loss at PLN 2,500.
Based on the information gathered, detectives identified the perpetrator and the place where the bicycle had been hidden. The 26-year-old was arrested when he came to collect his loot.
The officers recovered the bicycle and charged the 26-year-old with theft. The Bolesławiec resident admitted his guilt and gave an explanation.
The man has a number of property thefts, including bicycle thefts, to his name. (Among other things, he robbed a 22-year-old from Trzebnica County, who came to Bolesławiec for a competition with a bicycle worth PLN 11,500).
The thief now faces up to five years in prison.
