Bolesławiec criminal investigators, acting on the basis of operational findings, detained a 37-year-old man. The suspect stole a bank card from his father’s wallet and then—outside Bolesławiec County—used the card 10 times to break into an account that was not his and withdrew PLN 14,500. (He failed to do so twice.)

After withdrawing the cash… he put the card back where he had found it. He hoped that his father would not realise that he had been robbed. He was mistaken.

The 37-year-old, who had already been convicted of property-related offences, was detained the day after the crime was reported. It turned out that he had already spent all the money on entertainment.

The detainee was charged with a total of 13 offences; he could now face up to 10 years in prison.
