The incident occurred on Sunday, 8 April. The Lubin police duty officer received a report that a man was breaking into one of the apartments in the Przylesie housing estate.
The suspect was detained after a pursuit. He turned out to be a 29-year-old resident of Lubin. The detainee explained to the officers that he had argued with his girlfriend and wanted to get into the apartment where she was believed to be staying. When it became clear that she was not there, the jealous man vented his anger by kicking the door and smashing the window in the stairwell. (This caused approximately PLN 700 in damage.)
The 29-year-old will now answer for his actions before the court. He could face up to five years in prison.
