On Friday at noon, officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters received a report of a laptop stolen from the lecture room of a school training future drivers. The perpetrator took advantage of easy access to the room and stole the laptop along with data storage devices containing information important to the owner.
Based on the information collected, criminal investigators quickly identified the perpetrator. That same day, a 24-year-old man was arrested on one of the streets of the City of Ceramics. He was carrying the stolen goods in a shopping bag.
The Bolesławiec resident, who already has property-related offenses on his record, confessed to the crime. He now faces up to five years in prison. (The recovered laptop, worth PLN 1,500, was returned to its owner.)
