Both incidents occurred on Wednesday, April 4, in the afternoon. The manager of one of the supermarkets in Bolesławiec drove his car to Polna Street. He parked there, scraping against the vehicle of the first injured party. He then got out and entered the building.
When the person responsible for the collision came out, the owner of the damaged car pointed this out to him. However, the man did not feel responsible and drove away from the scene. The injured party notified the police.
The officers arrived at the scene. It turned out that there was surveillance footage. They were unable to make out the registration plates of the car belonging to the person responsible for the collision. However, the officers recognized the man who had arrived in the car. (And this was hardly surprising, because he is known for documenting mistakes by officials and… police officers. He even talked about this unusual occupation on TVP’s breakfast program).
When the police officers reported the matter to the duty officer at KPP Bolesławiec, he said that, indeed, the man in question was responsible for a collision—but the one that had occurred beyond the roundabout between Bolesławiec and Kruszyn. (Three vehicles had collided there. The car of the police-mistake tracker crashed into the rear of another vehicle. Under the impact, the latter vehicle moved into the opposite lane and collided with another one).
The market manager was fined at that point because the officers did not yet know about the collision on Polna Street. When this came to light, the driving licenses of the person responsible for both incidents were suspended. The whole story will have its conclusion in court.
We will return to this subject.
It is worth adding that the injured party in the collision on Polna Street… had parked his car improperly and was also fined.
