Local residents informed the municipal guard dispatcher about burning furniture on Powstańców Śląskich Street in Jelenia Góra. (The incident occurred on Thursday, at around 9:00 p.m.).
A patrol immediately went to the scene. Behind one of the buildings, officers found burning furniture, wooden doors and other waste from a renovated building. “The burning varnished elements caused the area to fill with black toxic smoke, while the large flames and flying sparks posed a threat to nearby buildings,” the officers said.
The 35-year-old man was given a substantial fine and ordered to extinguish the fire immediately.
