The Valentine’s concert, whose first edition took place on Friday, February 13, in the I LO auditorium, is another event with a chance to become a lasting part of the school’s traditions. The event was dedicated to the parents of the school’s students.
The event aimed to showcase the school’s talents—not only vocal, but also instrumental and dance. The concert repertoire was very diverse. Everyone gathered in the school auditorium had the opportunity to hear, among other things, songs by pop music stars such as Celine Dion, Tina Turner and Edyta Górniak; rock songs (“I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith, performed by Monika Szelejewska, and “Moją i twoją nadzieję” by the group Hey, sung by Kaja Kruszyńska); as well as two excellent interpretations of songs by the legendary Jacek Kaczmarski. Katarzyna Demaj of class IId sang “Manewry,” while Kamila Osuch of class IIIf performed “Zbroję.” The vocalists were accompanied by teacher Sławomir Zimniak.
There were humorous moments as well. During Friday’s concert, the already well-known Chór Informatyków took the stage and performed the song “Przybyli ułani pod okienko.” Meanwhile, the girls from class Ic—Weronika Burek, Ewelina Borucka, Agata Nykiel, Marta Marszałek, Marta Nadzionek and Karolina Marcinek—performed a Bollywood-style dance.
Małgorzata Naglik, a teacher and supervisor of the Student Council, oversaw the entire event. The first Valentine’s concert at I LO proved to be a success. “We hope that we will manage to organize a similar concert next year,” Katarzyna Żak, the school’s deputy headmistress, told the IstotneInformacje.pl portal. “But even now, many performers have announced that they would like to perform during the school’s Student Council Day, on April 1,” she added.Katarzyna Żak, deputy headmistress of the school. – “But even now, many performers have announced their desire to perform during the school’s Student Council Day, that is, on April 1,” she adds.
