The Bolesławiec City Council adopted a resolution granting the area at the junction of Widok Street and Generał August Emil Fieldorf “Nil” Street the name “Square of Soldiers of the 2nd Polish Army”.

Let us recall. During the February session of the County Council, the Bolesławiec County governor referred to the voivode’s decision to rename 2nd Polish Army Street as General Nil Street.

“While one may have reservations about the 2nd Polish Army, the situation is different in the case of its soldiers, who fought for their homeland,” the local government official stressed. He added that the county authorities wanted to ask the Mayor of Bolesławiec to name a street or square “Soldiers of the 2nd Polish Army”. At the same time, he stressed that officials would not protest against the voivode’s decision because “General Nil is a worthy figure”.
