During the March session, the Bolesławiec City Council adopted a resolution “on naming the Square of the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence in the city of Bolesławiec”.

Let us recall. Local structures of the ruling party in Poland appealed to the Mayor of Bolesławiec to name the square on Bankowa Street the Square of the 100th Anniversary of Independence. (The aim was to commemorate the anniversary of this event and to create a place by Bankowa Street where celebrations of all important national holidays could be organised – including 3 May and 11 November. According to Bolesławiec activists, the site by the defensive walls, where the so-called Smolensk plaque was installed, does not meet these requirements).
