The publication continues the book published in 2012, entitled “We Are All Manual Labourers... The Public Security Office in Bolesławiec (1945–1956).” The inspiration for both publications, devoted to the activities of the Bolesławiec Security Office, came from research conducted in 2008 near the former UB detention facility at 5 Grunwaldzka Street. Its purpose was to verify information about the burial sites of victims of the torture chamber in that area and to attempt to find and identify their remains. This was a turning point that prompted a public discussion about the activities of the UB in Bolesławiec.
