As we read on the Bolesławiec Municipality website:

As always, it was a moving moment filled with memories—the attendees were able to view private photographs of the couple, and Marzena Komarnicka recounted the story of how they met. The Oleksiaks were born into families of Polish remigrants who had previously lived in the territory of former Yugoslavia and returned to Poland after World War II—Karol was born in 1944 in Bosnia, while Bronisława was born six years later in Ocice. It was there that they met, lived and worked. They married in 1967, and their daughter Małgorzata was born a year later.

In 1989, the family moved to Lubin, where Karol found work at a mine. At that time, Bronisława worked as a seamstress, worked in construction companies and cared for the family. Four years later, their second daughter, Agnieszka, was born, and nine years after that, their son Tomasz. Karol retired in 1990, and since 1993 the family has lived in Ocice.

That same year, the Oleksiaks became grandparents—their granddaughter Agata was born. They now also have two grandsons, Maciej and Jakub, and a great-grandson, Filip.

During the ceremony, the couple was accompanied by two of their children, who assured everyone that their parents were exceptionally well matched and admitted that they were a wonderful example to follow.
