The incident took place on Saturday, March 3, near Gdańska Street. An MZK bus driver noticed two young people stepping onto the ice near the Bóbr River. Concerned, he called the municipal police.
When the officers arrived at the scene, it turned out that the two 13-year-old girls had stepped onto a frozen puddle. Even if the ice had given way beneath them, their lives would certainly not have been in danger, as the water would have reached perhaps only their ankles.
The girls were driven home. Although nothing happened to anyone, this is a good opportunity to once again point out that stepping onto frozen bodies of water can be dangerous. (After all, some time ago children were walking on the ice of the municipal pond near Bankowa Street. There could undoubtedly have been a tragedy there.)
