U16 athletes competed in Wałbrzych last Saturday. Michał Zazula gave the best performance, winning the 60 m hurdles (8.76 s) and high jump (178 cm). Michał currently has the best result in Poland in the hurdles. Amelia Jackowska took third place in the long jump (4.81 m). Both are coached by Rafał Gruman.

The athlete coached by Dariusz Łomański Stanisław Pachnik brought home a silver medal; after a fierce battle in the 1000 m (3:04.6 min), he lost to his rival by just 0.1 s.

Among Małgorzata Markowska’s athletes, Malwina Towenek performed best. Matching her personal best in the high jump (145 cm), she won a silver medal.

On Sunday, Paweł Jóźwiak competed at the Polish Indoor U18 Championships in Toruń, finishing 10th in the long jump (6.60 m).

A week earlier, the best Polish juniors and U18 athletes also competed in the Toruń indoor arena. Bolesłavia was represented by five athletes. Tomasza Markowskiego Gracjan Kozak, coached by Tomasz Markowski, came close to winning a medal. Improving his shot-put personal best by nearly 2 m (16.52 m), he took fourth place, finishing just 40 cm short of the podium. Jakub Karaban placed seventh in the heptathlon (4095 points), Marcelina Drozdek was eighth in the 3000 m race walk (16:43.55 min), and Eryka Janiec finished 12th in the triple jump (9.95 m). All three athletes train under Rafał Gruman. After a very good qualifying run in the 200 m (23.22 s), Piotr Posłuszny, coached by Dariusz Łomański and Damian Kula, was unfortunately disqualified for crossing the line of his lane. It was the seventh-fastest qualifying time.

The athletes from Bolesławiec now face the Lower Silesian Cross-Country Championships on March 10, the Polish Cross-Country Championships on March 17, and the Interprovincial U16 Cross-Country Championships on March 24. We wish them success.
