The incident occurred on February 4 at around 3:30 a.m. Near Wróblewskiego Street in Jelenia Góra, police officers noticed a BMW. They signaled the driver to stop, but he did not do so; on the contrary, he began to flee.

The chase lasted about 30 minutes. At one point, the 63-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra County tried to… run over the officers with the BMW. One of the officers fired two shots in his direction.

The man fled, but did not get far. Shortly afterward, he ended his drive in a roadside ditch and was arrested.

The fugitive smelled of alcohol, but the suspect refused to take a breathalyzer test. His blood was therefore drawn.

The 63-year-old was taken into police custody. He could now face up to 10 years in prison.
